Pre-Meeting Training Courses
If you are new to the Recovery International system and/or want to start a Recovery International, RI Discovery or The Power to Change group in your area, these trainings are for you.
JumpStart Your Road to Recovery
Friday, May 14
9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Members $95/Nonmembers $125
Includes lunch
This training will introduce you to the Recovery International Method and self-help tools, which enable individuals to live peaceful, productive lives. In this friendly, interactive, fast-paced session you will also learn how to participate in a group meeting. This training is required to take RI Discovery training for new group leaders.
Delivering JumpStart in Your Area (Current Recovery International Group Leaders and Area Personnel)
Friday, May 14

Participants will learn how to use JumpStart in their area. Once trained you can then use JumpStart for an introduction to Recovery International meetings for newcomers, panel demonstrations or monthly leader training meetings.
RI Discovery Group Leader Training (New Leaders)

The Power to Change Group Leader Training

Start a The Power to Change group for children in your area. This session is open to existing Recovery International group leaders, area personnel or anyone who has used the Recovery International Method in their lives and would like to learn this program. Although there is no prerequisite for this training, JumpStart Your Road to Recovery is encouraged. Following this training, you will be able to lead a The Power to Change group for children in your community.

Anyone who has heard Peter Ashenden talk knows that when you leave the room following his speech, you leave inspired. In this keynote, Peter will walk you through his personal journey of learning and living a recovery-oriented lifestyle, while demonstrating important tools that help him continue on that path. He will discuss surveys and other instruments that help to better explain the perspectives of consumers of mental health services. He will also talk about ways in which anyone can solicit peers to take action and help build more and diverse support systems for people who want to chart their own path to recovery.

Marketing/Fundraising Session: Wait Wait… Please Tell Me!

Join our first-ever quiz show on area outreach and fundraising. Your emcee will quiz a special guest and the audience on the essentials of “the ask” in this entertaining and informative session. You will learn that people want you to “tell them” about your meeting, our self-help tools, membership, how to support your group and how to easily get that message out. Don’t miss this session. You won’t find another one quite like it!

In these problem-solving breakouts, we want you to tell us what you would do if you were in charge. Show us your creativity and think outside the box. Breakout topics will be announced prior to the Annual Meeting.
Awards Dinner: Catching Rising Stars

A highlight of every Annual Meeting is our Awards Dinner, where we celebrate our rising stars: peers who have demonstrated outstanding service to the organization. Join us Saturday evening for this special event.
Full Annual Meeting registration includes one dinner ticket. Additional tickets can be purchased using the registration form.
Recovery International, RI Discovery and The Power to Change Meetings
We will host Recovery International meetings Friday at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday at 10:00 a.m., The Power to Change meetings Saturday at 8:00 p.m. and RI Discovery meetings Friday at 8:00 p.m.
